Desmond Narain Doulatram
Activist for Climate Change and Youth Empowerment
Desmond Narain Doulatram holds a Bachelor of Science in Social Science with a Pre-Law emphasis from Southwestern Adventist University. He began his career at the Office of Environmental Planning & Policy Coordination (now RMI Climate Change Directorate) and later worked at Marshall Islands High School before earning a Master of Arts Degree in Asia-Pacific Studies from the University of San Francisco. Currently a Ph.D. candidate in Pacific Studies at the University of the South Pacific, he also holds a Professional Certificate in Online Education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
In his role as a Social Science Instructor and Co-Chair at the College of the Marshall Islands (CMI) Liberal Arts Department, Desmond teaches courses such as History of the Marshall Islands and Contemporary Social Issues in Micronesia.
Beyond academia, Desmond serves as a National Board Member for the Marshall Islands Public School System and co-founded two NGOs: Jo-JiKuM (Youths for a Greener RMI) and REACH-MI (Radiation Exposure Awareness Crusaders for Humanity-Marshall Islands). With his diverse background and extensive involvement in education and community initiatives, Desmond is dedicated to making a positive impact in the Marshall Islands and beyond.
